    FAQ

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Colon Hydrotherapy

Colonic hydrotherapy also known as colonic irrigation is the safest way of cleansing your intestines without the use of drugs. A gentle infusion of filtered warm water in and out of your large bowels to remove mucoid toxins build up in the colon

Treatment lasts about 20 minutes during the first session, and about 35minutes to 40minute on subsequent sessions at Gut Care.

Is Colon Hydrotherapy Painful? No, colon hydrotherapy is not typically painful. Most clients describe the experience as mildly uncomfortable at times, especially during the initial insertion or when the body releases gas or waste. However, the procedure itself is gentle and designed to be as comfortable as possible. Our trained therapists use a closed system, which ensures hygiene, privacy, and minimal odor. Warm, purified water is introduced into the colon at a controlled pressure to gently stimulate natural peristalsis and release waste. You may feel some cramping or fullness during the session, similar to the sensation before a bowel movement, but these feelings usually pass quickly as your body adjusts. Your comfort is our priority—we guide you through the process, and sessions are tailored to your pace.

Who Is Eligible for Colonic Irrigation?

    1. Eat Light the Day Before
•Choose light, easy-to-digest meals such as fruits, steamed vegetables, soups, and herbal teas.
•Avoid heavy, greasy, or spicy foods, as well as red meat and processed meals.

    6. Use the Restroom Before Arrival
•Emptying your bladder can increase your comfort during the procedure.

What Is the Difference Between an Enema and Colon Hydrotherapy?
While both enemas and colon hydrotherapy are used to cleanse the colon, they differ significantly in depth, method, and effectiveness:
    Enema:
•Involves the introduction of a small amount of liquid (usually water or a solution) into the rectum.
•Cleans only the lower part of the colon (the sigmoid and rectal area).
•Typically used at home for temporary relief from constipation.
    •Quick and short-term solution.
    Colon Hydrotherapy:
•Uses a gentle, continuous flow of purified warm water to flush the entire length of the large intestine.
•Performed by a trained professional using specialized equipment in a clean, clinical setting.
•Offers a deeper and more thorough cleanse of the colon.
•Often part of a detox or wellness program to support long-term digestive health.
In summary, an enema is a quick, surface-level cleanse, while colon hydrotherapy offers a full internal cleanse that can support better overall gut health.
